The Penny Wars Results-Day 1

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Penny Wars have begun and the results from the first day of battle are in!

Continue to check to blog over the next week to stay updated with your class's Penny War ranking!

Penny War Rules/Morning Assembly Text

Attention Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen, Eighth graders and
Seventh graders!
A war is brewing on our own Campus.
Yes, each of your classes is being affected by the “Penny Wars”. Which begin today and will end next week Tuesday, May 8th.
This is the only war that has no casualties, there are no losers,
however . . . sabotage is permitted.
So let me explain what this “Penny Wars” is all about.
First of all the proceeds will all go to the Japan Red Cross Society
for the Japan Earthquake Relief.
There are six beautiful giant glass jars (motion to Mr. Mendoza) with your grade on it which are conveniently located in Mr. Mendoza’s room, 112.
To win the great prize of a chicken lunch . . . or a pizza lunch, your class must end up with the most points for your pennies.
Every penny in your grade jar counts as +1 point
But there is a problem – if other grades put silver coins like nickels, dimes, quarters, silver dollars, and dollars bills or larger bills in your jar . . . the value of these foreign attacks will set your class back because the value of these foreign coins and bills will be deducted the total count of pennies in your jar.
Yes! You will be allowed to put these coins and bills in other class’ jars to offset the points for the amount of pennies they have in their jar.
You may drop in your coins and bills only when Mr. Mendoza is present in his room – from 7:30 a.m., small recess, lunch recess and
after school until 3:15 p.m.
If you need more clarification you can look over the rules with a fine tooth comb.  They are posted on the door of room 112.
So, let the Penny war begin, and as author Suzanne Collins wrote "May the odds be EVER in your favor!"
